Transformation continues the journey started by science fiction grandmaster James Gunn in Transcendental and Transgalactic.
Riley and Asha, now transcended beings courtesy of the Transcendental Machine, join forces with Earth's Pedia in order to find out why so many planets at the edge of the Federation have fallen mysteriously silent. The arrogant and recalcitrant bureaucracy of the Federation only grudgingly allows them to undertake a mission to find out what happened to these planets. Along with Tordor, a Dorian representative of the Federation, and Adithya, a member of a splinter group vowing to destroy the Pedia, find that each planet has suffered different catastrophic cultural failures each unique to the beings who inhabit them.
They must find a common thread and prepare to confront an enemy more ancient than the Transcendentals and more powerful than any Pedia.
