Summary

Susan Jackson Rodgers teaches creative writing at Kansas State University. She is a past winner of the Lorian Hemmingway Short Story Competition. "The Trouble With You Is" received the First Series Award for Short Fiction. As the title suggests, these fifteen collected stories center on a moment of judgment. Fertile imagination has allowed the characters to pretend all is well, to ignore the dangerous distances that steadily creep into their intimate relationships, to believe the other person will change to suit their needs. Still, the time surely comes when attractive fantasies falter and only truth will do.
