Summary

"Tucker Finds His Forever Home" tells the story of a young pitbull-mix dog who is forced out of his home because of the way he looks. He wakes up in a park and is confused by his surroundings. He can't figure out why everyone is afraid of him.

Tucker runs for shelter in an alley where he dreams of his old home and his boy, Henry. The next morning, Animal Resource Center finds him and take him to the animal shelter. Tucker is excited about his new surroundings, a bath, a soft bed, and high hopes of being adopted.

Weeks go by and Tucker's happiness fades as many dogs are adopted and he is passed over because they think he is mean. One day, Tucker meets someone special. A young woman named Lyla, who thinks he is just perfect the way he is. She adopts Tucker and takes him to Wagtown, a dog-friendly community.

Tucker has fun adventures and feels completely accepted in this new town. Lyla gives Tucker happiness, unconditional love, and a forever home. He realizes that he isn't a worthless dog after all. In the end Tucker found out that being himself was good enough.

Author Biography

If you love dogs, you need to know about Beth Miller and Wagtown. Beth is the founder of the charitable organization that helps communities become more dog friendly. Wagtown is the bridge between
"We want to be dog friendly" and "We are dog friendly." Since launching Wagtown in 2016, she has interviewed more than 500 community leaders, elected officials, animal welfare advocates, grassroots groups, and others. She learned from the successes and failures in what Miller refers to as the "Dogification of America."

Throughout her research across the United States, it became obvious to Miller that she needed to speak to children about dogs and their effect on our lives. Enter Beth's first book – a children's book called, "Tucker Finds His Forever Home." The book features beautiful watercolor artwork artist Erica Schindler.

The book is about empathy and humane treatment of animals as seen through the eyes of an abandoned young pitbull dog. The book addresses topics like self-worth, discrimination, safety, emotions, and bullying. The story also focuses on some key messages about hope, resilience, and love. The book is inspiring, touching, fun to read and listen to, and full of opportunities to cheer for the main character throughout his journey.

100% of Wagtown's book proceeds go to animal welfare projects and programs. Yes, 100%. The more books we can get to kids, the larger the impact we can have on the welfare of animals in our communities. Dogs make the world a better place. Now, it's time to make the world a better place for them.
