Summary

Thorough biological coverage of all major turf species Turfgrass Biology, Genetics, and Breeding presents for the first time a comprehensive study of the various types of turfgrasses, their genetic and biological makeup, and the specifics of when, how, where, and why each species was adapted for use. The only book of its kind specifically addressing turfgrass science, this timesaving reference provides the basic biological explanations behind adaptation, genetics, and breeding of turfgrasses, following the evolution of these grass species up to the most current advances in domesticating them for turf. Edited by two leading experts in the field, chapters cover cool- and warm-season grasses and come from an international group of contributors that include the most notable and respected leaders in the field. Turfgrass Biology, Genetics, and Breeding is an invaluable resource for scientists, researchers, other turfgrass professionals, and students.
