Summary

The spectacular Napa Valley has over 400 wineries, numerous restaurants, and endless attractions. Known internationally for its beautiful countryside, exquisite vineyards, first-class lodging, and food, Napa is perhaps best known for the variety and excellence of the fine wines that are produced and bottled here. The Valley has over 100 wineries that offer public and/or private tastings. Based on the assumption that most visitors are severely (and cruelly) time-constrained, the sole purpose of this publication is to guarantee that they maximize their Napa Valley experience and minimize the unproductive time of searching for wineries, lodging, and restaurants. Here, 25 of the truly exceptional wineries are profiled in this book, along with Napa’s world-class restaurants, lodging, and spas. These highlighted wineries, coupled with Napa’s outstanding restaurants, lodging, spas, and recreational activities, will make any stay memorable and thoroughly fulfilling. Most importantly, this guide will ensure that visitors will want to come back.

Author Biography

Rob Bond, a resident of Piedmont, CA and a Californian for over 45 years, visits Napa Valley several times a year to experience the ambiance and uniqueness of "Napa."

These frequent visits have reminded him of the fact that there are hundreds of options for how someone might spend his or her time there, and that there is a great need for a definitive publication that picks the best wineries, lodges, and restaurants to maximize an all-too-brief stay in the area.

Following a tour in the U.S. Navy and after graduating from Stanford Business School, Bond has spent the past 40 years in various and wide-ranging entrepreneurial activities, including new business development, merger and acquisition work, product management for a medium-sized chemical company, real estate syndication, real estate development, and most recently as president of two niche publishing companies—Source Book Publications (primarily books on franchising) and Half Full Press (high-end coffee-table books).
