Author Biography

Scotland native Mark Millar got his big break in the industry on the long-running horror title Swamp Thing. Although his innovative writing style quickly earned him recognition among creative circles, it was not until his controversial run on The Authority that Millar ascended to his current status as one of comics' most popular writers. When offered the opportunity to update the Marvel Universe for a modern audience, Millar eagerly took on Ultimate X-Men - later adding The Ultimates, on which he continues to serve as regular writer. One of the premier artists working in comics today, Bryan Hitch recently renewed his exclusive contract with Marvel, keeping him with the House of Ideas family through the year 2006. Besides The Ultimates, Hitch is best known for his dynamic, detail-oriented artwork on The Authority and JLA. With writer Mark Millar, he is currently hard at work on Ultimates Volume 2.
