The day the Argentinita goes on stage for the first time, just four years old, she discovers that dancing is her destiny and wants to devote herself to it, to her last breath. With her steps and her voice, she will captivate the entire world and meet the most brilliant minds of her time: she will become friends with García Lorca, attend the best Flamenco parties, and live a passionate romance with matador Ignacio Sánchez-Mejías, though she will suffer painful losses too. Her talent will take her from Paris to Buenos Aires, from the cafes in Malaga to the New York stage, all the while a terrible civil war breaks out in her home country.
