Understanding Systems Leadership: Securing equity and excellence is a significant study of one of the most important changes in our understanding of the nature of school leadership. For a generation, educational leadership has been understood in terms of the leadership of a school: accountability has been focused on the performance of the individual school and headship has been seen as synonymous with the school.
