Summary

There are two dangerous and unscriptural attitudes toward Satan and his demonic forces. One is to deny, as the liberal theologians do, the reality and existence of a personal adversary, the Devil. It's absurd to do as most contemporary Christians do and treat the subject with an attitude of indifference, being blind to his extensive power and work and deluded by the naive idea that Satan presents no real threat to the believer beyond tempting one to sin now and then. Such an attitude has no basis in Scripture whatever. It's baffling that people, in what we term heathen lands, know more about the negative forces of evil than many church people living in our Western civilization. It's time for Christians to become acquainted with the unseen world of spirit both negative and positive. A pastor once asked me not to preach a sermon on demonology for fear the congregation would be frightened. Another pastor, after listening to a minister speak on the subject, said: "I would not preach such things in my church." This is inexcusable! It is a frightening irony that Satan, the world's most formidable foe, is largely being either neglected or ignored. Christendom must learn to strive not only for good, but against evil. Religion is doing no favor by encouraging mankind to close its eyes to the most horrifying atrocity of earthly life - and religion is the only hope for an awakening. It must produce the disciple of new dimensions. It must create the evangelist with a practical but peculiar power. It must send us, before it is too late, God's exorcists. Every profession includes specialists. Messengers of the Gospel are no exception. There are preachers who excel at spreading the peace and comfort of the Word. There are others who minister best by personally counseling wanderers and seekers. And there are dedicated theologians writing, instructing, and leading. Why, therefore, should it be unrealistic to have men of God specializing in the ultimate ministry - overpowering Satan's evil forces?Satan hid in the churches, and behind pulpits; he was not preached as man's arch enemy. Preachers kept quiet and just "preached Jesus." To preach Jesus is to preach the victory life -- victory over sin, victory over sickness and victory over Satan. It is one thing to preach it, but yet another to put it into practice; or in other words, to make it work! In Acts 10:38 we read clearly that the ministry of Jesus was to do good and to heal all those who were oppressed of the devil. Satan is one created being, albeit powerful. He cannot be in two places at the same time, but he proliferates his myriads of fallen angels -- demon spirits -- to accomplish his absolute bidding, which is always malign. It is a fact that the very demons that hide themselves from our view manifest themselves in sin, sickness, and disease. Jesus did not commission His church to ask Him to heal. He commands us to bring His healing and deliverance in His name. Thus we Christians are supposed to be law enforcement officers -- officers commissioned to bring the law of love against these demonic invaders. And commissioned to command them off God's property. Our spirits, minds, and bodies belong to God, not to ourselves or to Satan. We can command the trespasser to leave in Jesus Name and he has to go. I commend the reading of this book. It will enlighten you.
