Walking Barefoot is a symbolism of a glorified and ritualistic lifestyle; stretching through three decades of innocence and decadence. It is omnificent in its scope, dealing with philosophy, psychology, violence, anger, love and God. Ultimately, it hinges on alcoholism, socio-pathology, and schizophrenia. Journal is composed in a rough gonzoistic style, with flashbacks to the past. The novel is fast and written on many levels, running from the present to the past and back again, spaning the life of a child thrown into a dysfunctional white ghetto world of alcoholism and violence, until the final drink he takes, thirty years later. A world, that up until now, has not been documented. There are rants on religion and politics, as well as, stories of war, int'l drug smuggling, marriage, children, the I.R.A., radical sixties groups, the Marine Corp., work and College. The list goes on and on.
