Summary

David Trench was wanted for murder and for robbery, and he had ten dollars in his pocket to show for it. Then fate suddenly stepped in one night on a deserted Texas highway. David met Blake Curtis, and after a freak accident that left Blake dead David assumed his identity. A man was watching from the shadows that night. He photographed David taking Blake Curtis' wallet and replacing it with his own just seconds before the car caught fire and exploded. Years later, David, posing as Blake Curtis, was approached by that same man. He presented David copies of the photos he had taken and threatened to expose him unless he gave him two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. David chose, instead, to disappear with the money he had embezzled from his company. However, before he could flee, the blackmailer confronted David. There was a fight, a gun was fired twice, and David suddenly found himself standing between the bodies of the black-mailer and the only woman he had ever loved. But fate still was not done with him.
