Author Biography

Who is Lia Martirosyan? Other than being an arbitrary anomaly, she is a modern-day renaissance woman.Born in Abovyan, Armenia, Lia is deeply connected to her roots. At the ripe old age of 3, she was able to persuade her family to pack their bags and move west. Setting roots in Los Angeles, California, Lia found an early love for all things creative: Singing, theatre, and the written word. From a very young age, she would frequent the local library where she could be found in an obscure corner reading for hours; Lia had an insatiable thirst for knowledge.As Co-Founder of ABILITY Corps, Lia has joined a force of individuals promoting a more inclusive world. Lia has traveled to 13 countries, some more than once; in these travels, she has been developing projects and performing with, and for, organizations promoting accessible, inclusive endeavors. She has constructed, collaborated with, and spoken on several panels, covering such topics as: assistive technologies, music therapy, and the importance using platforms, like social media, in sharing and creating life-changing opportunities for people.Decades of Lia's life has been consumed by an unsolved mystery; an arbitrary anomaly of health and chance. With the help of science (specifically whole genome sequencing and knowledgeable geneticists), a painfully destructive illness, went from undiagnosed to rare and atypical, with no medical intervention available. That would have been too easy.Lia continues to write, sing, and share laughs with her whisky.
