Summary

The book is rich with quirky characters such as McTeague, the 100 year-old shaman married to a schoolteacher nearly half his age, Mark and Andy, longtime companions and owners of Hanna's Grocery and Supplies, Barry, Goody and Zarkov the aging hipster who returns unexpected, resurrected with a teenaged heart. Overhead, soaring in the distant aeries, an eagle named Sun weaves the invisible bonds that make up White Mountain's spirit and strength. A charming, bucolic story, at once romantic, comic and wise.
