Excellent modern introduction to graphic design. April 15, 2011
The elements of visual design are necessary for good communication, especially in this day and age. This is a great introductory textbook and I have learned a lot. I work as an engineer- and this textbook has made me rethink my visual communication. Some of the best things in the book are the examples and discussion around bad design vs. good design. The textbook covers the basics and goes into enough detail to explain the important elements without overdoing it. Overall, I highly recommend this book. It's one of the few books that I keep in my office.
