Author Biography

Golfo Alexopoulos is an Associate Professor of History at the University of South Florida and the author of Stalin's Outcasts: Aliens, Citizens, and the Soviet State, 1927-1936. Julie Hessler is an Associate Professor of History at University of Oregon: Her publications include A Social History of Soviet Trade: Trade Policy, Retail Practices, and Consumption, 1917-1953 and Europe in the Twentieth Century (fifth edition), with Robert O. Paxton. Kiril Tomoff is an Associate Professor of History at the University of California, Riverside, and author of several articles on Soviet cultural life in the Stalin era and of Creative Union: The Professional Organization of Soviet Composers, 1939-1953.
