Richard S. Ostfeld is the editor of The Year in Ecology and Conservation Biology 2011, Volume 1223, published by Wiley. William H. Schlesinger is a biogeochemist and the retired president of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, an independent not-for-profit environmental research organization in Millbrook, New York.
