Even There God's Hand in All the Places of My Life

For fifty years Margo has listened to her life through journaling. In this memoir she offers 52 short reflections on her journey of trusting God, becoming attentive to Him through spiritual disciplines, and living well in the company of others. For those young in faith and for those who've traveled long on spiritual pathways, Margo's stories, Scriptures, and wisdom gleaned from book mentors will provide hope and practical guidance. She explores her images of God and of herself and how trust has grown over the course of her lifetime. Her experience with various spiritual disciplines offer specific ways for becoming attentive to God. Hers has not been an isolated journey, but has been lived out in the company of others throughout forty years of vocational ministry on college campuses. The theme of suffering is woven throughout Margo's stories, as she has parented a daughter who lived 28 years with a chronic illness. In all of the ordinary and extraordinary challenges of life, Margo has discovered that "even there", God's loving hand has guided and rested on her.

Margo Balsis has served with The Navigators for over four decades on various college campuses in the Midwest and at the Air Force Academy. She and her husband Glenn currently live in West Lafayette, Indiana, where they engage with students at Purdue University and cheer Boilermaker football and basketball. She is trained in spiritual formation and is passionate about helping young men and women find strength in God. She is the grateful mom to a daughter and son-in-law and grandma to a precious grandson.
