Author Biography

Karen Ross is Professor of Gender and Media at Newcastle University, UK. She is author and editor of more than 20 books, including Gender, Politics and News, and has published numerous papers on issues of gender, media and society, and gender and political communication. She was principal investigator on the EU-funded Advancing Gender Equality in Media Industries Project (2017-2019) and is currently the UK and European regional coordinator for the Global Media Monitoring Project.
