The relationship between Abigail Page and her older sister Jasmine has always been a close and special one, despite an age gap of seven years. Jasmine is bright, courageous, reckless and beautiful. She is also clinically insane.
Throughout her childhood, Abi has helplessiy watched her adored older sister spiral out of control in an ongoing battle against addiction and mental illness. In Abi's eyes, Jasmine is unconventional, uninhibited and 'mad' in the freest sense, but to the doctors who treat her she is a junkie, a schizophrenic - a waste of a promising future.
At eighteen, Abi leaves home to go to university in Brighton where she slides into (and frequently passes out of) a hedonistic student lifestyle. But when Jasmine pays her an impromptu visit, some familiar alarm bells start ringing and Abi is forced to wake up, wise up and grow up.
