Brief History on the Philosophy of Science

This book is not only directed to the general interested reader, who is curious about scientific and philosophical queries, but also to all Physics students, because they need to understand the underlying substractum of their field of studies; and, to philosophy students who can not ignore the scientific implications and contents which deal directly with this subject. The level of this book lies between Stephen Hawking's science writings (as in A Brief History of Time) and Roger Penrose's The Road to Reality.As Stephen Hawking has commented, the heliocentric theory and Einstein's relativities, the first one claiming that the Earth was orbiting around the Sun, while the second one sentencing the death of absolute space, time, and flat geometry, aroused brutal accusations of being pseudo-sciences , the first by the Inquisition, the second by the Nazi regime. Besides that, we hear about anti-science, which plagues the field of Philosophy. The text is self-contained, either in Science or in Philosophy. A Glossary is supplied for the benefit of the reader. We have used as our case-study, the Physics field, but most of the text applies to Science in general.
