Managing the Curriculum in South African Schools

This series, Managing Schools in South Africa, seeks to fill that gap. It aims to develop material directly relevant to school management. It integrates the best of theory, research and practice drawn from the most appropriate international sources which is directly applicable to a wide range of South African schools This book is underpinned by the philosophy that effective management of all staff in schools is essential if the challenges of educating South Africa's youth are to be met. Good managers must be able to recruit, select, motivate and monitor teachers and other staff. The purpose of "Managing Human Resources in South Africa" is to provide guidelines for professional development and competence in managing staff effectively. Case examples are provided throughout.
