Author Biography

<b>Dr. Paul Jay Edelson</b> is the Dean of the School of Professional Development at the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook. He has published four books, <b>Rethinking Leadership in Adult and Continuing Education</b> (1992), <b>Higher Education's Role in Retraining Displaced Professionals</b> (1997). <b>Enhancing Creativity in Adult and continuing Education</b> (1999), and <b>Weiterbildung in den USA</b> (2000) as well as over eighty articles on leadership, academic planning, electronic distance learning, and creativity. He teaches graduate courses at Stony Brook and Teachers College, Columbia University. He attended City University of New York (BA), the University of Minnesota, and New York University (MA, PhD).<br><br><b>Dr. Jerry Ice</b> is the Chief Academic Officer of Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey. He received his doctorate in Administration and Supervision from Fordham University. Many of his publications have focused on the educational needs and goals of adults returning to college. During Dr. Ice's tenure at Thomas Edison, a number of innovative programs have been implemented, including the National Institute foe Experiential Learning, the Computer Assisted Lifelong Learning (CALL) Network, and the CALL-PC Loan program for underserved students.
