Summary

The Six-Spoke Approach to Golf reveals what the world's top golf professionals know: To play your best you need to focus not just on technique but on all six aspects of playing well. If your body, mind, game analysis, practice regimen, equipment, and technique are not in balance and working with you, they're actually working against you. Golfers who follow the Six-Spoke Approach significantly improve their scores, have greater strength and flexibility, gain more confidence in their game, and demonstrate an increase in their overall satisfaction and enjoyment of golf.

Excerpts

Excerpt from Chapter One:
The next time you watch your favorite tour players on television, take a close look. See how they make aggressive, athletic swings and stay in balance or how they turn their shoulders so far and hit the ball great distances? Believe me, those people work out for hours a day, every day. When prize monies in professional golf tournaments increased dramatically, the sport began attracting world-class athletes in greater numbers.
The allure and prestige--and the resulting attention to physical fitness and training--have changed the game forever, for amateurs and professionals. Proper physical training for golf has finally gained serious attention. Unlike their predecessors, today's competitors have personal trainers and a fitness van while they're on tour.
Most people view golf as a benign, even docile, activity--a hobby, not a sport. Thing again: the golf swing generates up to four horsepower and reaches a speed of over ninety--and sometimes more than a hundred--miles an hour. Golfers must have strength, speed, and an adequate range of motion to create that kind of kinetic energy, not to mention the stamina to play for an average of four hours and to walk the equivalent of four to six miles, often on hilly terrain.
Golf is an athletic event--a true sport.
