Pat Marcuson, a fisheries scientist who specializes in alpine lakes, spent ten years surveying and sampling the lakes of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness and the Crazy Mountains for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. He currently lives in Salmon, Idaho.
