Amongst the usual and false pretenses, our adversaries of Rome have long gone about to deceive the simple and ignorant. One of the principal is the paucity of the professors of the reformed religion, and the multitude and amplitude of them, and their religion, as if all the Christian Kings, Emperors and Bishops, before King Henry VIII; and Archbishop Cranmer and also the whole church of God has been subject to the Bishop of Rome. To discover the falsehood of these, their vain and glorious boasting, Mr. Pagitt proposes to set before the reader.
