Little Michael's Guide to Raising Good Parents : A Seven Year Old's View

Little Michael is seven years old. He doesn't have the same experiences as an adult who has lived more years. What he does have is the innocence of his youth. Little Michael tells parents and others who care for children exactly what young children want from them. Much of what Little Michael says may seem obvious to many of us. But being aware of Michael's suggestions and following them are two very different things. Michael points out to us that children mainly want these things: To be told the truth. To be given some rules. To be allowed to be curious. To be permitted to be who they are. To have things explained to them. To be allowed to make mistakes. To be given help at times. To have promises kept. For their parents not to argue. For their parents to apologize at times. To be noticed. To be looked at. To be hugged. To be loved. Any children receiving these things would live a blessed life, and their parents should be proud of the positive direction they've given them.
