Captain Wren C. Thomas worked for over 28.5 years as a merchant mariner as he worked his way up to his Master's License to be the Captain of his vessel. Captain Thomas enjoyed working on the ocean highways until his ship was hijacked by Nigerian pirates and he was taken hostage for 18 brutal days in the rainforest of the Niger River Delta. Captain Thomas also proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine. He is a proud son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Lori is an accomplished public speaker, presenter, and technical writer within the public safety communications profession, where she worked for over 35 years. For the second half of her life, Lori has followed her passion for literature and branched into the publishing world as an editor and now into non-fiction writing.
