Author Biography

Christopher A. Thurber, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist on the faculty of Phillips Exeter Academy who researches homesickness and young people's adjustment to separation from home. He lives in Exeter, New Hampshire. Jon C. Malinowski, PhD, is a behavioral geographer on the faculty of the United States Military Academy. He specializes in the geography of childhood, children's place preferences, and human spatial behavior. He lives in the Hudson River Valley, New York. Their research has been featured on National Public Radio and CBS This Morning and in Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, U. S. News & World Report, Parents, and Parenting.
