It's Me, That's Who

"It's Me, That's Who" is a collection of poems by Mark J Beasley with illustrations that resonate with a broad spectrum of readers, from children to adults. Along with brilliant, quirky cartoons by Kem Welch, Mark's inventive poems are giggle-inducing and zany, with clever whimsy and thought-provoking wordplay populated with invented characters. Mark uses rhythmic and playful language to buttress his singular vantage point to create poetry that turns quotidian situations into ones full of fantasy and silliness that will expand your imagination beyond the confines of adulthood.

Born and still residing in Charleston, SC, Mark began to take an interest in writing verse in his early 20s for no other reason than to amuse himself, which still holds true today. "I'm driven to challenge myself to imagine lyrics that stimulate the spirited mind to create verse that has yet to be heard. What could be more motivating than that?" Mark is fond of playing electric bass in an all-original band with songwriter John Seymour. He occasionally finds time to ride his motorcycle and is content when attending live music concerts. Still motivated by the appetite to surpass himself, Mark persists.
